Facts about Wasps
Wasps are not bees. They may look like bees but they do not produce honey and their nests are not made of the same substance. Wasps could create a nest out of mud or wood but bees only make their nests made of honey.
Aside from that fact, there are other things that you should know wasps which would help you in preventing from being stung by wasps:
Wasps are very aggressive from August to October during these months, the preferred food of wasps shift from insects to food and garbage. During these months, wasp could be found in food and garbage. Unintentional contact happens which could lead to a wasp attack.
Wasps are inactive at night as long as the sun has not risen, wasps will usually be found in their nests. This is the best time to attack wasps as you could eradicate them once and for all. Their high sensitivity to light makes them very predictable, which is a great advantage for those who want to eradicate them.
Wasps also have benefits, these insects are beneficial to farmers since wasps are predators of caterpillars. Wasps could comb the whole area for food and would eat caterpillars which can damages the farmers crops.
Male wasps don’t have a stinger female wasps have ovipositor, the stinger which is also the female sex organ. Because of their feature, female wasps are assigned to protect the nest.
Not all female wasps are fertile the sterile wasps are usually the first group of wasps to be born in the colony. They lay eggs first to help the queen increase the population but eventually become sterile when there are enough wasps in the nest.
